What is an expo navigation platform?

An expo navigation platform is the digital wayfinding layer for a trade show or exhibition — typically a branded mobile and web app where attendees search for specific exhibitors or sessions and get a route from where they are to where they need to be. OuterMap is an expo navigation platform built around AI extraction from the event's floor plan, with offline support so the app keeps working when venue Wi-Fi saturates.

How do attendees find specific exhibitors?

Search by exhibitor name, booth number, product category or visit interest. The app draws a route from the nearest entrance with walking time. Exhibitor data is imported in bulk (CSV) at event setup and editable through the admin during the event.

Can we re-skin the app for each event?

Yes. Each event running in the same venue can have its own colours, logo, name and content (exhibitors, sessions, sponsors). The venue floor plan is mapped once with AI; everything that changes per event is content swapped from the admin.

Does it integrate with event-platform vendors like Cvent or Bizzabo?

Not as a direct vendor integration. The Enterprise plan exposes a public API so exhibitor and session data can be synced from your event platform via webhook or scheduled job. Lead retrieval and badge scanning stay in your event platform — OuterMap handles the wayfinding layer.

Does it work without venue Wi-Fi?

Yes. Attendees download the floor plan and exhibitor data on first open. After that, search and routing work offline — essential because expo Wi-Fi tends to saturate inside the first hour of doors open and concrete halls block cell signal anyway.
