John Martin Reservoir State Park
Overview
Point Campground at John Martin Reservoir State Park is an open-air, basic dry-camping area located on a ridge along the reservoir's north shore in Hasty, Colorado. Overlooking the water and vast prairie landscape, it offers 104 primitive campsites without electricity, water, or shade, but equipped with individual picnic tables and fire rings. Visitors have direct access to vault toilets on-site, as well as nearby amenities like coin-operated showers, laundry, and a dump station at the Lake Hasty area. The campground connects to the 4.5-mile Red Shin Hiking Trail and historic Santa Fe Trail sites, making it an ideal base for birdwatching, boating, and fishing. Vehicle park passes and advance campsite reservations are required year-round.
